New Web Surfers in China Younger, Less Educated By JONAH GREENBERG New survey results show that younger people, and people with less education than previously, are getting online in China, according to a Hong Kong-based Internet market research company. Whereas the Internet in China was once the exclusive domain of the educated elite, more Internet users are turning up without a college degree, said Interactive Audience Measurement Asia (iamasia) in an announcement Thursday. Also according to the release, the average age of Internet users in China who came online within the last six months is 28, whereas the average age of Internet users who have been online for two years is 32, showing that recent adopters are an increasingly young segment of the population.
